COVID-19 EMERGENCY RELIEF

RESTORE 954: COVID-19 EMERGENCY RELIEF
Rapid Response &
Recovery for Families

OVERVIEW

Established in 2017, the Urban League of Broward County Restore 954 and Families First Fund were developed to provide disaster recovery and relief funding to families impacted by Hurricane Irma. With an official state of emergency declared for the State of Florida, demands on the healthcare system and nonprofits are already increasing, and we expect COVID-19 will have a serious economic impact on the region. Urban League relaunched Restore 954 and the Families First Fund to receive charitable donations that will support local response, recovery and relief efforts for families disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In an effort to understand how best to support our families during this difficult time, the Urban League developed a Community Impact Survey to inform our rapid response. This survey will assess our clients' immediate, short and long-term needs including:

  • Food Insecurity
  • Essential Living Expenses
  • Emergent Needs Due to COVID-19
  • Rent & Utility Payment Support

Now more than ever, nonprofits throughout the nation will experience an increased demand for critical services and support. Locally, our recovery efforts include stabilizing and strengthening the Urban League's infrastructure to adequately respond to the community's most pressing needs.

We anticipate the long-term impact of COVID-19 on our community, especially for those who were already struggling to make ends meet. Our team will continue to serve through a virtual service model which includes outreach and enrollment, case management, and training in our core services areas of Education, Entrepreneurship, Jobs, Justice, Housing & Health.

  • Veterans experiencing homelessness

WHAT ARE THE FUND'S KEY PRIORITIES?
